Phase 9 — Manuscript

Phase objective

Write, polish, and submit the flagship manuscript. Structure: a brief introduction framing the science-of-science gap, methods, the three findings plus the open-source contribution, and discussion of implications for science policy, journal editors, and field self-monitoring. Internal review by all co-authors, followed by external review from 2–3 trusted senior colleagues including any engaged science-of-science collaborator. Simultaneous bioRxiv preprint with submission. Target venue: Nature Communications first (broad audience, accepts methods + findings papers, science-of-science fits), with backups Nature Human Behaviour, Nature Machine Intelligence, or Patterns (Cell Press, open access, faster decisions). Deliverables: submitted manuscript, preprint with DOI, cover letter, and suggested-reviewers list.
